Art and culture workshops
The project with Holy Trinity School featured a number of workshops with Year 2 and Year 4 children, including talks by experts in African Brazilian heritage on topics such as history, food, religion, language, and art; practical workshops on oral history, video and sound recording, and video editing, art and Brazilian dance and music.
On 15th March 2013 three groups of children visited various locations in Brixton to film a series of interviews with members of the local Brazilian community. These activities informed pupils’ mapping of the area, and led to their sensory heritage tour of Brazilian culture in Brixton.
