Description: I served on this ship, INS Vikrant. Vikrant means ‘victory’. It was based in Bombay. It had to go in the anchorage because it is too big and it had to go in the commercial dock because the naval dockyard is too small. I did 30 years in the navy. I knew this ship from top to bottom. You could get lost on it. You didn’t have to go anywhere for exercise, you just go to the deck and run three times around that carrier and you had your exercise for the day. I feel sorry for the cooks of the ship because they had to make over 1000 chapati for the crew.
