Event: Why Interpretation? a seminar and workshop discussing the theme of interpretation in the museum sector as part of the ISN network – Interpret Sweden Network.
Description: Experience this interactive, multisensory installation, which explores various aspects of Moroccan heritage and culture. Zelige Door on Golborne Road consists of a map of Golborne Road, which has been populated by objects relating to Moroccan heritage and culture, and uses Augmented Reality to construct a living museum of cultural memories to be experienced through the senses. The work reflects the challenges of gentrification and communal visions of a utopian space within the city. It was produced in collaboration with members of the local community who participated in a series of memory sessions with the artist focused on people’s everyday life.
The project was supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
